【摘要】:General8212;Thispracticecontainstherecommendationsforminimalinformationalrequirementsfortheidentificationofchemicalprotectiveclothingitems.ItisintendedtoprovidetheuserwithsomeofthebasicinformationnecessaryfortheproperselectionanduseofthechemicalprotectiveclothingwhencomparingresistancedataderivedfromASTMperformancetesting.1.1Thispracticecoverstheinformationalcontentoflabelsinoronchemicalprotectiveclothing.1.2Thispracticedetailstherecommendedformatandminimalcontentoftheinformationtobeincludedonthelabelsusedforchemicalprotectiveclothing.1.3Protectiveclothingisdefinedasanysingleitemorcombinationofitemsusedforthepurposeofisolatingpartsofthebodyfromdirectcontactwithapotentialhazard.Itdoesnotincludeindividualpartsofaprotectiveclothingitemdesignedtobewornaspartofanotheritem(forexample,afaceshieldorlens)unlessitmaybewornindependentlyoftheotheritemsandstillbeusedinaprotectivemanner.Forexample,agloveorbootunlesspermanentlyattachedwouldbeconsideredaprotectiveclothingitemrequiringlabeling,whileavisororventvalvewouldnot.Insummary,theintentofthispracticeistoonlyrequirelabelingofpartsofanensemblethatcanbeusedindependentlyfortheprotectionoftheuser.1.4Thispracticedoesnotcoveruserinformationprovidedbymeansotherthanitemlabelingsuchasinstructions,informationalpackets,brochures,orotherwrittenmeans.1.5Thispracticeexcludesthoseitemscoveredunder16CFR303unlessspecificallydesignedforuseaschemicalprotectiveclothing.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
