本标准规定了食品添加剂己酸的技术要求、试验方法、检验规则和标志、包装、运输、贮存。本标准适用于仲辛醇氧化所得的己酸和从低碳脂肪酸分离而得的己酸。该产品用于调配各类香精和作为原料合成其它食品香料。
