【摘要】:Sedimentininsulatingoilmaydepositontransformerpartsandinterferewithheattransferandmaychokeoilducts;thushinderingoilcirculationandheatdissipation.Inorganicsedimentusuallyindicatescontaminationofsometypeandorganicsedimentindicateseitherdeteriorationoftheoilorcontamination.Solublesludgeindicatesdeteriorationoftheoil,presenceofcontaminants,orboth.Itservesasawarningthatformationofsedimentmaybeimminent.Thedeterminationofsedimentandsolublesludgeinausedinsulatingoilassistsindecidingwhethertheoilmaycontinuetobeusedinitsexistingconditionorshouldbereplaced,reclaimed,orreconditioned.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofsedimentandsolublesludgeinservice-agedinsulatingoilsofpetroleumorigin.Also,provisionismadefordeterminingorganicandinorganiccontentofthesediment.Themethodisintendedprimarilyforoilsofcomparativelylowviscosity;forexample5.7to13.0cSt(mm2/s)at40x00B0;C(104x00B0;F).Suitabilityforhighviscosityoilshavenotbeendetermined.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
